Autumn Danjiri Festival in Hyogo, Japan
Beginning of October we had the Autumn Danjiri festival organized in our city in Japan. I most definitely enjoy being out here and seeing all these people from our city flooding the streets with their families. Me and my daughter were there too, she as well loves watching the wooden carts carried by the strong men and women and celebrating their culture. She always comments of how happy she is when she sees the girls being part of this celebration, even tho majority of the people on the wooden floats are men.
This year I decided to take my camera with me and capture some of the moments of the Danjiri Autumn Festival. Majority of the shots I took are from the streets while the wooden carts are moving, but this was not only where the festival was, the near by children parks and play-areas were transformed into some kind of fairs too, where you can play games, food stalls where you can get food and drinks or a souvenir stalls.
I used my 35mm lens on this day but I wish I packed my 85mm lens too, I would have loved to captured closely the emotions on people’s faces. But, that’s a note to myself next year :).
