The White Magnolias

Ever since we moved in at our apartment in Japan, I noticed a little tree with white big petals blooming gorgeously at the end of February. At the time I didn’t know what was this tree, but I would just sit and admire… for hours. Two years fast forward I went to a museum where my favorite architect Tadao Ando had his work displayed and on one of the poster it was written that after the earthquake that strike Kobe, Japan at 1995 he and his team planted 300 000 white magnolia trees - and there was a picture of the same tree that we had it near our building. While reading that I was like, thats the tree that I absolutely adore!
So, here we are couple of years later I am dedicating a post to this absolutely gorgeous tree that I had the honor to photograph yesterday on my way to the supermarket :) . I chose to shoot this tree in black and white, in order to show the beauty of the white petals.
