New Start
In the beginning of this year I wrote a blog post about my last year’s photographing journey and I kinda made a promise to myself that I will try my best and shoot more this year. Well, for now it goes well, I do shoot almost daily and Im pretty happy with that. Few days ago I sat down and watched “Julie & Julia” movie on Netflix. It’s about a chef who gets inspired from another chef and starts to write a food related blog every single day for a year (mostly recipes). I thought this is such a great thing, but writing every day blog it might be a little overwhelming for me, so I thought why not one blog a week, maybe a blog where I share with the world photographs that I have taken throughout my week and write a little blog post about it.
I did give a shot a few years back where I was trying to film youtube videos about my daily life in Japan, but I honestly found it difficult being in front of a camera. I still do that but I keep the videos private to only me and my closest family. I love doing anything related to videography and photography but the peer pressure and the expectations from the outside world for videos is bit tough. So, I think blog will be much better option.
I read quite a lot daily like… blogs, books, newspapers, magazines, and… I love writing - so I might give this blogging a shot and see how it goes in future. Combining my passions in one it’s not a bad idea after all.
So, today is March 1st and is my Birthday, so posting my first blog post on my Birthday marks a great start ahead… i think so.
Hope you enjoy reading it, and see a glimpse of the life in Japan currently.
This past week, has been a bit hectic. Monday 24th was a public holiday here, so my daughter stayed at home. We hanged out at home and had a little brisk walk in the cold weather by the river. We took Yoshi-kun out with us, and went back running towards the house because I could not feel my ears anymore from the cold. It has been weirdly cold this February… I have never seen the river in our city frozen like this year.
On Tuesday things went back to normal, I started taking Japanese classes again and I must admit I truly enjoy this time, my teacher is amazing and very helpful, she makes things way easier for me to understand the language. I also started going for a run couple of times a week, which is not great because I didn’t know that I had so many muscles in my body - basically every move hurts, but beginnings are the hardest, hopefully things will get much easier as the time goes on.
Wednesday was pretty chill, it was snowing outside so I made some mini donuts, and we played some Nintendo in the afternoon. and Thursday I had my first Tai Chi class and wow… I first thought Tai Chi is for older people who just come to these classes to chill and have fun - but Jeeeez its very intense. During the class I learned that my lower body strength is WAY out of shape!
Friday, after I took my daughter to school, I sat down on the sofa for longer than I usually do since my legs by now have given up, and I thought well this is the perfect time to draft my very new blog post. It took me 4 hours to put it together but it’s worth it. Enjoy reading and see you next week! :-)
