Road trip to Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan

For a very long time now T has been asking us to go for a road trip. In late October she had around 10 days of vacation so we thought that this will be ideal time for a road-trip. The weather was around 15 degrees celsius - just perfect. We researched a bit for renting a van but the prices per day seemed very expensive, so we decided to travel with our old lady the Toyota Estima, and sleep inside.

From Ashiya, it took us about 5 hours driving to Lake Kawaguchiko. I searched for a nice and peaceful road stops around mount Fuji, and I found Katsuyama road stop. We arrived late at night, maybe around 8pm and we spend the first night there. When we arrived the parking was almost full. It was also super cold, around 2 degrees, so we slept with the heater on. The next morning we woke up and spend the morning around the lake just relaxing and enjoying the view. The shops at this road stop were opening at 09:30 so we got some warm coffee and tea from the vending machines.

Below are some pictures from our first day there.
After our breakfast we headed out to the queen herself Mount Fuji. We decided to go to Oishi Park because it was just 10 minutes drive from the place where we camped, and then after that head out to the village Oshino Hakkai.
The last day here we just went around exploring the area a bit and then just ended up staying by our parking spot enjoying the lake views.
